Volunteer for the 2013 Marathon Team

Throughout the year, and on Marathon Monday, the Mass General Marathon Team needs volunteers to help with events, our pasta dinner, training runs and our tent at the starting line. Current volunteer opportunities are listed below.

Mass General Marathon Team 20 Mile Training Run – Saturday/Sunday, March 24/25, 2013

The Mass General Marathon Program needs volunteers to staff water stops at the long team training run along the Boston Marathon route. Each spot will have Mass General Marathon signage, water, Gatorade and cups available. The three spots are located in Framingham (9:45am), Natick Center (10:30am) and Wellesley Hills (11:15am).   Please contact us if you’re interested and let her know which location you would like to work.  The run will take place on Saturday, March 24 with a rain date of Sunday, March 25.

Mass General Marathon Team Pasta Dinner - Sunday, April 14, 2013

The Mass General Marathon Team Pasta Dinner will be held for the runners, patient partners and their families at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. Volunteers will be needed from 3-7pm. Volunteers are needed to assist with runner registration, t-shirt distribution, balloons, etc. Please contact us if you’re interested.

Marathon Monday - Monday, April 15, 2013

All families of runners/patient partners will gather at Mile 20 (Sumner Street and Commonwealth Avenue in Newton Centre) to cheer on the MGH runners. Volunteers are needed to assist with set up, face painting, balloon animals, clean up and overall supervision throughout the day (11am-5pm). A few people are also needed to staff the finish line (3-6pm).  Please contact us if you’re interested.
